Chelsea Transfer News
Chelsea face a race against the clock to reshape their squad ahead of the new Premier League season under Xabi Alonso
The west London club begin their league campaign at Fulham on Monday evening, though uncertainties persist over their roster.
Incoming boss Alonso has already implemented several significant changes but further moves could materialise in the coming days, most notably involving Enzo Fernandez.
The Argentina international has attracted interest from Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola’s side failed to meet Chelsea’s £120million valuation before a key deadline. Nevertheless, there remains scope for late developments, with the transfer window remaining open until September 1.
Numerous players have already departed Stamford Bridge this summer, either through temporary or permanent transfers. Marc Cucurella and Andrey Santos rank among the more notable names exiting permanently, with Chelsea generating close to £100m from those transactions.
Chelsea did, however, spend exceeding that amount on Morgan Rogers alone. The England international represents one of ten new signings for Alonso’s first-team squad, although one arrival – Kazakh striker Dastan Satpayev – will serve a loan spell elsewhere this campaign.

Key Events
Ian Wright has called on Arsenal supporters to cease questioning Myles Lewis-Skelly’s mother following links between the England international and both Chelsea and Manchester United.
On The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, Wright expressed that Arsenal fans should relax regarding Lewis-Skelly’s mother, rejecting suggestions that she was promoting her son to other clubs, and noted that Lewis-Skelly has already indicated his happiness to remain at Arsenal.
Wright questioned why Arsenal had not simply stated that Lewis-Skelly was not available for transfer.
Chelsea announced their squad numbers for the upcoming season on the previous day.
Liam Delap has shifted from number 9 to 12 while Tosin has moved from 4 to 38.
These alterations seemingly indicate neither individual features in Alonso’s intended starting lineup.
Italian reports indicate Napoli have expressed interest in Nicolas Jackson.
The Senegal forward is not their only striking target, with Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee also considered a potential acquisition.
The Serie A side find themselves short of a centre-forward this summer after permitting Romelu Lukaku to depart for Fenerbahce at a discounted rate.
Manchester City’s incoming transfers could reach £200million within a week.
Following sales exceeding £110m for Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders, Tottenham have shown interest in attacking duo Omar Marmoush and Savinho.
Those departures could facilitate Enzo Maresca’s side funding a late move for Enzo Fernandez.
Several Chelsea players lacking first-team opportunities have been training separately as potential exits are pursued.
Sky Sports lists Tosin and fellow central defender Axel Disasi among this group, alongside forwards Delap and Nicolas Jackson.
Disasi spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham and has been associated with a permanent switch to the Championship side, though a Premier League move remains possible.
BBC Sport reports that Chelsea still value Liam Delap at £50m, twelve months after acquiring him for £30m.
This persists despite Delap scoring merely one top-flight goal last season, possibly in anticipation that interested parties will place greater emphasis on his scoring record at former club Ipswich Town.
Leeds United feature among clubs linked with the ex-Manchester City academy graduate, who also found the net during Chelsea’s successful Club World Cup campaign in 2025.
Aston Villa are attempting to gain an advantage over continental competition by pursuing Tosin for Villa Park, according to Sky Sports.
The Chelsea defender has attracted overseas interest, with former Fulham manager Marco Silva rumoured to be seeking a reunion at Benfica.
With Villa defender Ezri Konsa attracting Arsenal interest, Unai Emery’s side are maintaining flexibility in their plans.
Enzo Fernandez remains a Chelsea player for now, though Alex Scott continues to be monitored by the club should last-minute adjustments prove necessary.
The Bournemouth midfielder was the subject of a rejected offer earlier in the window, with a fee surpassing £64m likely required to secure his services from the south coast.
Chelsea could afford such an outlay should they receive a Fernandez windfall, and developments will be monitored closely.
Chelsea have already seen one bid for Alex Scott rejected
