Chelsea reject Leeds loan offer for Mykhailo Mudryk

Chelsea have turned down an approach from Leeds United seeking to sign winger Mykhailo Mudryk on a temporary basis, according to football.london.

The London club have refused an initial proposal from their longstanding rivals, who are eager to bring the Ukrainian wide player to Elland Road for the next campaign. Mudryk resumed playing earlier this month after the doping allegations against him were dismissed. The 25-year-old had been banned from the sport since November 2024 following a positive test for meldonium.

Various clubs continue to monitor Mudryk’s circumstances closely, with Chelsea willing to send him out on loan for the forthcoming season in an effort to secure him regular senior match action. Although Leeds tabled a bid for Mudryk, no determination has been reached at this stage regarding where he will feature this term.

Leeds’ opening proposal for Mudryk fell short of what Chelsea were hoping to receive, according to people familiar with the matter, and it now rests with Leeds to decide whether to continue pursuing their interest.

Strasbourg, Chelsea’s affiliated club, continues to feature as a possible destination for Mudryk, though the winger is understood to favour staying within the Premier League. Mudryk is prepared to leave Stamford Bridge this season to regain his match fitness and form following an extended period away from the game.

Xabi Alonso has numerous options for the left-sided forward position this term. Morgan Rogers, the club’s record acquisition who joined earlier this summer in a £117million deal from Aston Villa, appears set to be Alonso’s primary choice on the left flank.

Jamie Gittens presents another alternative after catching the eye during the club’s pre-season preparations. Geovany Quenda and Pedro Neto are capable of operating on either wing, while Estevao Willian has also featured on the left side previously.
